Freelance — CFL Reporter & Digital Host

April 2023 - present

  • Creating weekly social media videos (writing the scripts, recording, and editing) about the 2023 CFL season for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' digital platforms.

  • Interviewing a range of athletes for companies, including Canadian Superbike racers.

  • Writing articles and player profiles for CFL news site, 3DownNation.

  • Hosting events and creating video content as needed, such as interviewing fans at concerts at Budweiser Stage for Bet99.

 

Homestand Sports (formerly The Parleh) & CFL with Sarah — Host & Associate Producer

April 2022 - April 2023

  • Hosted & produced CFL with Sarah, an online show which covered the Canadian Football League (including relevant news, reporting on games, and fun storylines, etc).

  • Wrote scripts, sourced images and videos, clipped content for social media, and worked alongside editors to produce all CFL with Sarah content. 

  • Hosted & published daily sports betting videos on multiple platforms.

  • Promoted all CFL with Sarah content on company and personal's digital platforms, all while steadily growing an audience.

  • Interviewed CFL players and fans (including streeters) from across the country.

  • Conducted primary research on the CFL, attended games as media during the season, and attended the 2023 CFL Combine in Edmonton.

  • Hosted multiple weekly podcasts, including Trips Formation (focused on NFL & CFL) and Rated G (a women's show about sports and pop culture).

  • Worked with sportsbooks, such as Bet99 and FanDuel Canada (hosted videos, hosted events including both a Grey Cup and Super Bowl Watch Party, interviewed fans, posted on their social media platforms). 

  • Wrote a portion of the weekly 4% Rising newsletter based around women's sports (in collaboration with CBC Sports).

 

Kayla Grey Media, Inc. - Executive Assistant

July 2022 - March 2023

  • Worked as a personal assistant to Kayla Grey, the sideline Toronto Raptors reporter for TSN.

  • Organized Kayla Grey's daily schedule, coordinated meetings, and helped with daily tasks both remotely and in person.

  • Assisted Kayla Grey on-site at events, such as TIFF, award shows, speaking engagements, community outreach, and other sporting and social occasions.
     

Kenilworth Media, Inc. — Project Coordinator and Editor

February 2019 - January 2021

  • Worked as editor and art director of VPNextGen (vpnextgen.com), a website for emerging veterinary students and professionals.

  • Responsible for all aspects of VPNextGen, including the concept, design, branding, social media, and content (seeking contributors).

  • Used Wordpress and SEO.

  • Hosted the monthly podcast, NextPod. Found monthly guests to interview, came up with topics/questions, hosted, and edited.

  • Worked on marketing and sales promotional content (print and digital) for a range of B2B publications at Kenilworth Media, Inc. Also, implemented social media campaigns and worked with several departments to conceive, plan, and execute a variety of projects.

  • Worked as an assistant to two freelance editors (separately) after completing internships at Flare Magazine (Truc Nguyen) and The Kit (Carly Ostroff).
